Dr. Julie Duckert is proud to join Walker Animal Hospital this year.
Dr. Duckert greatly enjoys helping clients make informed decisions about their pet's health care and strengthen the human-animal bond! She was born and raised outside of New Orleans, Louisiana. Later, she moved to Baton Rouge where she obtained a Registered Veterinary Technician license from Baton Rouge Community College and a Bachelors of Animal Science from Louisiana State University. Dr. Duckert then moved to Columbus, Ohio to attend The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and obtained a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. After spending another year practicing at a fast-paced hospital in Columbus, she returned to her home state of Louisiana to practice here at Walker Animal Hospital. Her professional interests include soft tissue surgery, nutrition, and behavior medicine and she is a Certified Fear Free Veterinary Professional.
In her free time, Dr. Duckert enjoys being outdoors near the water, spending time with friends, family, pets, and enjoying the food and culture of Southeast Louisiana.
